Fueled by the love of music and performing, he had his debut at the age of 10,On a local TV show;" The Madame Rose Brown Show ". Where he had a "Ham bone Group". 1955 decided to form the Columbus Pharaohs, and began a serious career in music. Touring widely on the east coast. 1958 Morris and the Four Pharaohs,( Bernard Wilson, Ronald Wilson, and Robert Taylor) recorded "Give Me Your Love, " China Girl" on Esta label, (ransom 101) King Recording Studios."Give Me Your Love " hit the charts on Billboard, and Cash Box. And today, several of his songs are collectors treasures. Later he formed King Pharaoh and the Egyptians and recorded " Is It Too Late, It Was A Night Like This,(ransom 103) By the Candlelight , Shimmy Sham, on Federal label, subsidiary of King Recording, Cincinnati, Ohio. Then they toured extensively with engagements through out the east coast and central states There were changes in the group and in 1960 Leo Blakely, and Pee Wee Lowry joined the group and it became known as the Egyptian Kings.. In 1963, the group reformed again and went back into the studio to record a new version of "Give Me Your Love b/w3 Baby I need Love(1963 Nanc 1120) The group disbanded in 1964.. He toured throughout the United States, Canada & Aruba. He is continuously performing as Morris Wade & Soundtrack through out California, and in Vegas, as well as ship cruises. Recently He has reformed the Four Pharaohs(Columbus Pharaohs/Egyptian Kings)and is currently working on an new recording and various live performances on the West Coast. |
